Today is one of those bittersweet days for fosters…Titus left us early this morning for his forever home up in Northern California. So while we are so very happy for him to find a family to love him, we are sad to see him leave our home. Titus holds the record of staying with us the longest of any of our fosters and he nudged his way into our hearts. His last day was action packed as Titus nudged Sangtar for pets in his studio…
Scoped out fat cats on a walk…
Relaxed after work with a good read and lots of pets and a few cookies…
And ate his favorite meal…turkey meatballs!
“I’ll just sit right here and keep an eye on those meatballs for you!”
Served with mango / mint salsa…
Titus waiting for his serving…
…which he ate so fast, I couldn’t even get a picture of it! All that’s left is a little spittle on the side of his mouth.
We will miss Titus a lot but we’re sure he’s going to be getting a lot of love.
In honor of Titus and because he loved them so much I named this meatball recipe after him.
“Titus’ Tasty Tiny Turkey Meatballs”
1 egg
1 package of lean ground turkey
1 bunch fresh basil chopped
1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
3/4 cup breadcrumbs (Italian seasoning is best)
salt & pepper to taste
Smoosh the egg in a medium bowl and add all the remaining ingredients. Mix together until blended. Shape into little meatballs about 3/4″ in diameter. Brush meatballs with olive oil. Grill on a BBQ on medium low heat for a total of 15 minutes or until done, turning every 5 minutes. They should be a little crispy on the outside and very tender inside. Very tasty to eat by themselves or with a sauce or mango salsa or toss them in some pasta sauce for great spaghetti and meatballs.
Oh wow, I’m so behind again!!! Big, big congrats to Titus. I know you will miss him a lot, what personality :) So great for you to help him make the transition all on the right paw. I don’t know how you do it!
Oh and Mum will most certainly have to try that recipe thank you, and I say…fat cat is right, BOL!!
Hey M&S,
We can only imagine the mixed emotions. A successful foster is a good thing but Titus has been with y’all for 2 months so some bonds were formed no doubt. We sure hope that his new home is at least half as good as he has enjoyed with you. We’re gonna miss his majestic majesty. His transformation while in your care has been remarkable. Ya done good guys, ya done good.

Like everyone, we will miss that beautiful face. I guess I was secretly hoping he was a foster failure!!! Thank you for giving him such a wonderful two months. It had to be the best of his sweet life. By the way, I love all of your pictures, but the one a few posts ago that showed just part of his face up close and focusing on those gorgeous eyes is one of my very favorites!!!
Yippee Skippy for Titus…. we will miss seeing his photos and look forward to other buddies soon.
Tail Wags to All.
