Hello everyone! Sorry I’ve been away for such a long time. We’re still working on renovations here and I am finding it hard to find time to blog these days. The destruction is in full effect now! This was the pink bathroom that HAD TO GO!!!
Out came the sledge hammers and the humans got busy destroying things…plaster…wood…ugly vanities and best of all the pink tiles. This place was well built and there was a lot of muscle and sweat put into tearing it out.
It was very dusty work. You can see all the dust in the reflection of the camera flash. That’s my human dad using a little elbow grease and a crow bar to take out a wall of cement and plaster.
Once the ugly vanity was out we found the petrified remains of an old mouse nest. They had used papers form the early 50’s. It was the real estate section and houses in our area were selling for $12,000 then. The humans said they wish our house was that much now. I wonder if those mice were reading the real estate section to find a new house to move too? BOL!
Finally, it was stripped down to the studs. That’s a REALLY heavy cast iron tub in the middle. There was a lot of grunting and yelling to move it even an inch.
Even though I was supposed to be supervising, I wasn’t allowed near the demolition because they don’t make those dust masks for dogs. So I spent my time lounging around dreaming of ancient mice. Now we’re on to the good part…rebuilding! I’ll try and be back before the end of the month with an update.
Wowser! That was a lot of work! Darn good thing you were there to keep an eye on it all Spence. ;)
