Larry is still chillin’ with us until he finds his forever home, which we’re sure will happen very soon. This handsome lad is looking better everyday, as we have him on a diet (salmon, fruit, veggies) and an exercise schedule to get him into tip-top shape (he is on the chubby side:). His fur is in great shape, very soft and shiny, especially after he had a bath.
Larry is a more vocal than any of the other dogs we have fostered and he talks to you when he gets excited, like when he’s ready for his walk. He also began barking when people entered the yard this week, which we take as a sign that he is feeling pretty comfortable around here. Although he barks, his tail gives him away and he quickly approaches for a greeting and a few pets. And once he knows you, he is happy to let you pass silently.
When he came to us, Larry was suffering from a nasty case of kennel cough, but with treatment, it seems to be clearing up nicely, which means he will be eligible to go hiking with us. We’ll start easy with him, as he doesn’t seem to have had much exercise in the past and see how much he likes it. I’m sure he will love it, because of how much he enjoys going on walks.
Larry is looking for a family to love him as much as he deserves. If you are interested in adopting a great dog into your family, please contact Homeward Bound.
