And now for some smiles…..
A friend brought her beautiful Goldens over for a visit this week and one of them is a darling puppy.
Warning: Cute puppies may cause Puppy Amnesia. Symptoms include the inability to remember the following: chewing, digging, sharp little puppy teeth, bites, lack of sleep, house training, jumping, general spaziness and becoming a big dog. Will require: tons of exercise, plenty of food and water, toys, vaccines, vet bills, love and attention. Always exercise extreme caution when considering a puppy. Is a life long commitment.
Oh my! My heart just went pitter-pat!
Puppies will do that:)
We blew it – we have always rescued Goldens and brought our first puppy home three weeks ago. Astro is now 13 weeks old and all of us – including Charm our 10 1/2 year old rescue and Romeo our almost 6 year old Golden are having such fun…..Sleeping through the night can be so over-rated….
That’s my motto, sleep, who needs it…and I don’t have a puppy:)
Just wanted to let you know that I used your words of caution on a series of puppy pictures I will be posting tomorrow.
I sent credit back your way, I hope you don’t mind. There is so much wisdom in those words.
Terri
No problem Terri, if it helps srop some puppy amnesia:)
Aaww – puppy kisses – nothing more comforting! And thanks for the reminder, especially for my husband – who is talking “puppy”!
Paula
Oh, oh…you may be in trouble:)
You summed up the caution perfectly! Those sweet golden faces sure make you forget all their antics. Beautiful pictures!
Thanks again Janelle.
There is nothing like puppy breath to lift one’s spirits.
Sending lotsaluv to you.
Thanks Maxmom
Your cautions are well noted, but the love that is returned far outweigh any of those concerns. As much as we love Golden puppies and we have had them all our lives, we have now turned our attention to Senior Goldens in Rescue.
They grab your heart and are so happy for the chance of a forever home and unbridled love.
We hope the day will come, and very soon, for you to open your hearts to another Golden, their are so many that need help and a loving home.
We have found by doing this you truly honor the Goldens legacy, and at the same time part of the healing process is sharing the love you have with another.
Sheila & Bob
We are looking forward to the day we meet our next Golden and will foster again soon.
OK, aside from the fact that those puppy pictures are adorable, your words of wisdom in the caution rock the house.
Thanks Terri.
Were you able to get lot’s of puppy hugs and kisses in?
Lots and lots Elizabeth.
I think I know that puppy…and I know, I know puppy amnesia. Takes about 10-15 years to get it & to cure it again.
Cheers.
I think you do Ben:)
Thanks fur sharing all that golden khuteness –
Or as my Auntie Di khalls ’em ‘Golden Smooches’ –
Mom knows she’ll nevFUR evFUR do a puppy – she likes hers broke in a bit!
Hugz&Khysses,
Khyra
You’re welcom Khyra. Lots of Golden Smooches were had:)
that is one sweet pup. it is so very easy to forget that little pups need to go out at night. I forgot that when I brought my last pup home 7+ years ago. Yikes! It
was like getting up with a baby. Puppies do soothe an ailing heart between those
outings! Like babies kind of fun to enjoy and send home with mom when they
are little.
Exactly, or like grand kids… playtime and then send them home:)
Puppies are also a good fix for an aching heart! What an adorable little one!
We are thinking of you!
Sam
They are indeed Sam. Thanks for your support.
