As many of you know by now Paco, Milo & Maya’s parents, Marco & Simona, were in California so we took a road trip down to meet them. They were staying with fellow blogger Val & her pups, Joey & Kealani, at a house on the beach. There were beautiful views.
When we arrived Sammie & her parents were just getting ready to drive back home after their visit but we were very happy to see Sammie again. Here’s Sammie getting rubs from Marco and smiling at Simona.
Simona handing out treats. (L-R: Joey, Kona & Kealani)
Kealani & Joey demonstrated their catching abilities to Kona.
We went to the San Diego Golden Retriever meet up Howl-o-ween get together organized by blogger Sue.. There were at least 50 or more Goldens there and they had a contest for the best costume. Here’s just a few.
At the meetup we met up with Milo, Laverne & Shirley and their mom. Marco gave Milo some pets.
And then everyone wanted pets from Marco and he got swarmed by Goldens.
We also got to meet with Ben and his mom, who saved Kona’s life when she rescued him and brought him into rescue. It was great to see Ben again and to meet his mom, who we have worked with through rescue but never met in person.
There was a raffle and Marco & Simona won the very first drawing…a bag full of goodies for Paco, Milo & Maya.
The next day, Simona & Marco came back to Los Angeles to stay a couple of days with us and see the city. They packed in a lot of sightseeing in those 2 short days and I’m sure they will have pictures of their adventures to share. Venice Beach was one highlight.
And everyone loves the Santa Monica pier, the end of Route 66.
Kona enjoyed his 4 days with Marco & Simona and everyone else he met during that time because he got lots of pets…
And love.
It was really great to actually meet so many of our blog friends in person. We are thankful to know them all.
Hey M, S & K,
What a GReat post. Just like everyone else who wasn’t there to share the fun and meet Marco and Simona, we are VERY JEALOUS X 15 (10 Dogs, 3 cats + 2 people.) What a “happening” of souls with a common interest and bond. It seems to us that even if you haven’t personally met a blogging buddy, it must kinda be like you already know them when you do meet in person. Dad says that this is a very emotional happy post.

Marco & Simona have Golden souls! It explains the immediate kinship you feel upon meeting them in person. I’m so happy to see that they got to sightsee and wander the beautiful state of California. They are great adventurers and couldn’t stop talking of all the things they saw and did in LA. I know how much they miss their furbabies, so I pray their travels home are safe and swift.
I have wanted to meet you since I first read Spencer’s blog, as you well know. I’m grateful we finally did meet in person, and hope it was the first of many get togethers. I’m grateful that Kona has found his forever home with you. He looks at home, loved, and happy. It’s so heartwarming.
Oh, and we love Sangtar’s music blog. Growing up we had amazing Indian ustad tabla players in Afghanistan who were sought after by the most famou, most talented of singers. The music is the rhythm of my heritage and my memories of Afghanistan. Great, great blog.
Thanks for stopping by our corner of Blogistan again. Give Kona a couple of extra treats for me tonight, and maybe like 35 extra kisses. :-)
Mom and I both sitting here all jealous and leaky eyed!
Since Merdie is still here with us, we’ve got EXTRA GR spirits here!
It would be sooooo khool to have been there!
We’ll be looking furward to M/P/M seeing their stash!
