Kobe is extremely comfortable around the house, but he is still working on expanding his boundaries outside. We’ve found he enjoys going in the car to places like the pet store for shopping trips and walking down urban areas. As for walking around the neighborhood…
“Go on without me. I’ll just sit here and keep an eye on the place.”
Our neighborhood doesn’t have sidewalks so that might be hampering our progress. Last night we made pretty big steps and convinced Kobe it was a good time to walk up to the local ice cream parlor. It started off great but once we got to the corner of the block, things slowed down a bit. Still, we finally made it the few blocks to get ice cream.
Of course it was mandatory that we share that ice cream with Kobe, which made him very happy. On the way home, you could see his attitude had changed.
“Maybe this walk thing isn’t so bad…I got ice cream!”
Kobe is a super pawsome Golden looking for an extra special family to love and cherish him.

I bet he was amazed at the awesome reward he got for being brave! I notice he is at day 77 – how many days does he need to stay before he becomes permanent? BOL!
Sam
Thanks Sam. The miracle of ice cream! We’re still figuring out the second part:)
Wow, 77 days? I sure thought Kobe would have been snatched up already.
I do thinks its pretty obvious the change that he is showing- especially since from day one. :)
Way to go Kobe!
Thanks Elizabeth. Yeah, things are slow in rescue during the summer, so Kobe has stayed longer than usual. But we don’t mind:)
I still think Kobe is already home…
Just sayin’

Khyra
Thanks Khyra. You never know how things will turn out:) If we could keep them all, we certainly would but we’d need a way bigger house!
