First, a moment of silence for those lost on 9/11…
It has been a difficult week, full of emptiness. We have been doing our own grieving, something everyone everyone does differently. There have been many tears, but at the same time, many smiles from wonderful memories. The space Kona left in our hearts and home is huge. Nothing is the same.
I still want to walk him and fill his water dish in the morning. I look for him around corners and expect to hear his soft snoring in the night. I miss brushing him every night and laying under the lemon tree. There are so many little moments that were special in their own small way.
Part of my healing process is remembering and I do that with photographs, movies and a memory box. It is a celebration of life. This is for Kona.
He will always be in a special place in my heart.
I have been so busy bring Astro our new Golden puppy home that I totally missed your loss of Kona. I had found this blog about a year ago and have so enjoyed every picture you posted. Kona made a beautiful model and his time with you was so special, you could see it in his eyes and his smile. Know he will always be part of your family and will watch over you from the Rainbow Bridge. He will help guide the next Golden to you when you are ready.
Special hugs and tears from Colorado. Valerie Robson
Thank you Valerie, we had a winderful 2 years with Kona…no regrets.
We did the same thing for Cisco when she passed away. It’s amazing how much making a memory box can help you heal. I think it is all the smiles you get from going through pictures.
