One of Kona’s favorite places is under my desk in the office. He squeezes himself into this tiny place while I am working, always careful not to get caught on any of the cables everywhere. I like having him there. It’s comforting to feel the weight of his head on my foot and hear his deep breathes as he sleeps. He has become my muse. I have been writing more, taking more photos, exploring new ideas and rediscovering some of my creativity that had gotten shoved to the back of the shelf in the closet of life.
Maybe it’s because Kona is re-learning to live life and I am going on that trip with him. Seeing his joy as he discovers the simplest of things inspires me. Too often we get caught up in the minutia of everyday life..the job, the bills, that we forget to remember what living really is. Dogs are able to rediscover life in a moments notice no matter what their past situation. They forget everything and immerse themselves in the moment, that one right there.
So this weekend, get out there with your pup and really have a really good time…relax, smell some flowers, roll in the grass, leaves or snow. Trust me you’ll feel great for it. Your dog already knows that.
Have a great weekend and here’s some inspiration …
So true, dogs do know how to enjoy life!
stumbled upon your blog….love it ! you do wonderful things for goldens in need! looking forward to the dogumentary…although, this is my daily life at work, may be too sad….the trailer was beautiful…will be checking back in …
you’ve written it so well.
and it does make us ponder a bit… and slow down…
gotta learn to be happy and live life like it’s the last…
I love sitting at my computer with a pile of goldens (ok, just two) around my feet! If I change rooms, they come with me–it’s so cute :)
Wonderful weekend thoughts, thank you. That is the best thing about having a furry soul with you – they remind you to slow down and spend some time appreciating the things around you. They don’t criticize, so they make the best listeners and muses.

That was a beautiful piece of writing !- probably because it touches on the heartstrings and we recognise the bond with your dog. “Living each day fully” is not always easy and it seems that this might also be the common ground of us doggie-bloggers.
The two photos and your words are wonderful and inspiring! Thank you for sharing a part of yourself too.

What a great inspiration for us all =)
It’s nice how having that companionship again can allow us to get on with it. I feel so much more comfortable with my ‘new’ girl in the house.
Thoughtful post and a great action shot of the boyz..
Cheers.
Great Post! I love Kona! Thanks for reminding all our pawrents to stop and smell the roses and have a good time with us. Love, Dino
Great advice! We’ll be getting out but it will be in the rain and wind. Lots of dog towels to wash for sure.
That was really really nice! Sierra Rose is here in my office too….sleeping…but in her little fabric crate, as I might not have anything without teeth marks on it, if she was out and about in this room.
Kona has such a sweet, soft spirit. So glad!!!!
Hugs and snaggle-tooth kisses,
Sierra Rose and mom
