Well, we fell into another foster rather unexpectedly this weekend. Meet Kennedy, a 6 year old girl who was rescued from an LA shelter.
Kennedy has been very neglected…her coat is scraggly, she has pressure sores from laying on hard surfaces, fur is missing, her coat is rough, she has fly strikes on her ears and she is very over weight. Despite all that, Kennedy is a great personality. She loves to play and has amazing energy for a girl of her size and age.
She looks a lot like a scruffy bear right now with a punk rock haircut but we know she’s going to clean up very nice. In 3 or 4 months this girl will be beautiful, kind of a Cinderella story. Kennedy’s pluses are that she is house trained, knows basic commands and is very affectionate. She is a big love bug just looking for someone to help her through her transformation.
Kona is graciously sharing his house with Kennedy and they enjoy lounging in the backyard under the shade of the lemon tree. They are kind of a ying & yang pair and are learning new things from each other.
If you or someone you know would be happy to give Kennedy the home she deserves and live in the Southern California area please contact Southern California Golden Retriever Rescue.
Kennedy is a cutie pawtutie!!!! Bet she finds a home super fast!!! In the meantime, what a great friend to hang with :)
Hope Kennedy finds a good home!
Love,
Homer
I would take her in a heart beat but they won’t ship to Canada. My husband would kill me in getting another one. We are already being pushed out of a king size bed with two of them. Nothing like waking up to paws in your face! She is adorable though!
I love this big fluffy bear – she is adorable :) Kona is so nice to share his home…just like another dog I used to know.
Oh is Kennedy ever gorgeous – how could she look better??? Well… despite the problems you describe, she seems lovely and fun. I’m amazed at how well Kona is coping with the new arrival! Such a good boy to share his new home! Sorry I missed your last post – hey Kona – nice, shiny new hardware!!!! Love the tag and collar!
Hugs xo

We just know that she is going to clean up good and become a shining star. This blogging thing can really get our momma frustrated cuz she see’s doggies that she would like to adopt but we live up here so far away from everyone…sigh.
Kennedy looks very sweet…poor thing! Thank goodness for you! We hope she finds a new forever home soon. Kona…you look like me when I sleep.
Lots of licks

Hey M,S,&K,
Wow! Kona, you didn’t actually get a long time of settling in, but you pretty much did that as a foster yourself so best to get right back into the game. And, we might add, you don’t exactly looked terribly stressed out by Kennedy’s arrival. (You didn’t even interupt your nap for the picture.) She does look like a diamond in the rough but we suspect she’ll polish up to a real gem. She’s bound to bloom like a flower in your back yard. She has a very cute face, and looks kind of like a teddy bear.

Oh what a doll! I hate to think of ANY dog being neglected. Hopefully someone will scoop up this lovebug soon!
She is beautiful.
I believe that, if we had the chance to foster goldens here, we would have about 15, 16 goldens with us… :)
We have our paws crossed for Kennedy!
