Meet Lucky Luke. He’s our first foster back from our trip down under. Poor Luke wasn’t so lucky when he lost the only family he’s know for the past 10 years to some circumstances beyond his control. He didn’t let all that get him down and has a very nice smile for everyone he meets.
All our fosters get a bath and a grooming upon arrival and Luke timed it just right. It was very refreshing as the heat was intense today. He was very happy about the whole thing and enjoyed the water.
Luke is a big boy and will look amazing when he sheds a few pounds. He started his weight loss program with almost a pound of fur.
After a bath and a good brushing, Luke felt energized enough to do some expert roaching. He has very good energy for a 10 year old.
Luke is one of those Goldens who have to have something in their mouth all the time…sometime a few things, like a stuffie and his leash.
After a walk in the evening, Luke made himself at home under a desk. He fluffed up to look even bigger than he really is. This old guy is just looking for a place to chill out, lots of love and a place to call home.
ohhh he´s beautiful!!!
what a cute smile he has :D
he sure looks at home in that last photo!
big licks to all of you
What a handsome boy!

Hey M&S,
Jumping right back into the game; glad you’re back. Luke is definitely lucky to be getting fostered by champions like youse twos. Our Jubal is 10 and Homer J. is 11; they are both still energetic. heck, with Mogley saying Luke will be settled relatively soon, it’s probably gonna happen. We’ll be pulling for him from here.

I’ve read Spencer’s page over and over. I am again saying to you that my heart is breaking…just breaking. Do you know about the “2 dogs 2000 mile walk ” to beat canine cancer? If not, please let me know and I’ll send you the web site. Two lovely Great Pyrenees along with their master left Texas and are now just outside of Boston.
oh welcome back!
i’d love to see some wombats too!
Luke seem to love that stuffie bone, looks adorable with it :)
So happy to see you back in blogland with lucky Luke! What a handsome guy he is. In that last picture, I have to tell you, he reminds me so much of Honey. Wish we could GRAB him – what a love – playful and happy to be with you guys!

It is very excited to see your fabulous photos of Lucky Luke. We had a giggle over the brushing photo. We brushed him for 30-40 minutes and didn’t even make an impact on his bushels of extra hair.
Give him a big hug from all of us.

Life is Better on 3 Legs than 4.
Luke looks like he will go on to his forever home in a hurry. He is cleaned, groomed and ready to party. Tell him to be choosey, don’t take the first home offered, hold out for a special home. Inspect the house, make sure they have a good soft bed just for you, and a big bowl for food. Make sure they have lots and lots of toys and maybe a few trees with squirrels in them. A dog has to have a hobby, chasing squirrels is a great one. Good luck Luke!
