Sad.

Yesterday I had a bad day. I woke up and peed blood. Other than that, I was my usual happy self just like I have been all week. Concerned, my humans  whisked  me off to my vet and they sent me to a specialist. After a battery of tests we know that my left kidney has failed due to a large mass growing beside it. I also have another large mass near my bladder. They think the growths are cancer. We are waiting for some more test results to be sure.

My humans brought me home to make sure I am comfortable. I have pain medication and get to sleep in my own bed. They even stayed on the floor beside my bed all night  petting  my head and telling me I am their angel.

Today I am weak and resting on my bed by the window. I may not be able to blog for a while so I want to say how much I love all my friends and thank everyone for coming by.

  8. Oh Spencer – my hm is crying so much right now. She loves your stories and your blog sooo much. She is hoping (and so do I) that everything will be ok. She wants you to know that even though we have never met, she sends you love (you are loved by soooo many people it is amazing!!!) and lots of rubs! I like it when she rubs me when I am not feeling well.

    My HM and I have read your blog since it started (mom volunteers for a golden retriever rescue too….) and we’re both very sad that you’re not feeling well. We hope you enjoy warm days and snuggly nights with your humans until it’s time to go to the rainbow bridge (hopefully not anytime soon… )

  35. Spencer, My HM is crying. She read me your lastest blog. My HM has been reading your blog since your HM started blogging after your adoption. We both wish you well. You were adopted from the same organization I was. We are both such lucky dogs to have special HM’s and HD’s to come along and see us through.

    I’ve been following your adventures since summer when I was adopted by my new family but this is the first time I’ve left a note. My name is Digby and I’m a 2 year old golden. I live with 2 Chihuahuas (the doodlebugs).
