Today we went to Balboa Park. It’s an 80 acre park in Van Nuys  with a 27 acre lake in the middle. You can do a lot of things at the park like walk or bike around the lake, rent a pedal boat or kayak, fish, picnic, play with remote control mini boats, golf and BBQ. We watched the mini sail boats racing. Mostly they were pretty good but one guy kept capsizing his boat. I like to walk right along the edge of the lake. That way I can see all the ducks and geese. There are lots of ducks and geese at the lake. I walked right up to a bunch of geese and they honked at me.  I don’t mind though, I was just passing through. Half way around the lake I got tired (I am a senior citizen after all!) and there were some people lying on a blanket, so I plopped myself down right beside them on their blanket. They seemed to think that was pretty funny and laughed a lot. We wanted to go in the pedal boat but there are NO DOGS ALLOWED in the pedal boats. I was hoping to pedal out and say hello to some of the ducks but instead I just watched them from afar. It was a great way to spend a Sunday.
